Hi guys, this post may seem like a bit of a silly question but i've been away from MTB for a while now and i'm not confdent in answering my own question.

I own a Hardtail with a mix of 4X and dirt jump styling (i was young) and over time i have noticed how i don't feel it fits me dimensions wise. It feels like i'm too hunched forward and when i stand, i'm too far over the front wheel axle. I've caught my reflection in shop windows when cycling sitting down and i look like the hunchback of Notre Dame. I'm not sure if this has any links but i also used to get terrible upper back pain (shoulderblades specifically). Is this related? How would i go about fixing the problem without a new bike?

Cheers guys

1st off, spill the beans: what HT, spec, details inc you.

It maybe the bike you have is great for what you did, but what do you want to do now? You may not be able to fix it: you may be able to compromise.

as said above, dependant on what style of riding your thinking of now, still the same or more all rounder? possible a longer stem with increased rise or spacers inbetwenn stem and headset. bars with a higher rise etc. may be the size of the frame that may be the cause of the shoulder blade pain, bars too wide/ to narrow, multitude of things. I would sit down and assess what your aiming for and take from there, maybe see if you could ride someone elses bike thats a different size/ setup and see if that feels better before splashing cash
