Painting chain ring

One of my old chain rings is badly scratched, though it's all only cosmetic.

Was wondering of any complications to getting it sprayed in matt black, it won't cause any damage to the chain or anything will it?

    Shouldn't cause any problem to the chain, although don/t expect the paint to last on the teeth longer than 1 ride.
