i bought a single speed conversion kit form charliethebikemonger but part of the masterlink for the chain is missing (the top bit)

Can the chain be fitted without it? if so how? I tried it with just using normal links but it's impossible.

If you have a chain tool you can just pop in an extra link rather than use the powerlink. Or you can buy a new powerlink for about a quid from your LBS

Give Charlie an email, his service has always been good. No doubt he'll get a replacement in the post asap. You can't use it without the clip.
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.

+1 for gibing them an email or a call. I was in their shop today. Charlie was out riding, the jammy bugger, but he or his assistant will sort you out.
