How far have things come in the last 6 years?

I have a Look KG386 CF frame, from 2003 IIRC, that was built in 2004 with a full Ultegra groupset. I rode it for a year and for various reasons it didnt get ridden again until last autumn when I got started again and I've been riding it constantly since then.
But how much have bikes changed since that bike was new? I dont have the opportunity to ride other modern bikes so am wondering what all the developments in CF frame technology and other components means in real life riding today? Is it just lower weight or is there more to it?
If I jumped on a £2k Colnago, Bianchi, Scott etc what would I notice as the differences?
