I watched the dancing chillis for five minutes. Maybe it is time to go home.
In 1902 Wibur Scoville developed a method for measuring the strength of capsicum in a given pepper, which originally meant tasting a diluted version of a pepper and giving it a value. Nowadays it can be done more accurately with the help of commuters to rate the peppers in Scoville units, which indicate parts per million of capsaicin.

    Thank goodness for commuters.

Why not just stay at home munching scotch bonnets? Then you're right next to the phone (not to mention a known address) when you inevitably need to call an ambulance.

I'd come along and try a teeny bit, but inflicting pain on myself with food? I'm not really macho enough for that.

Normal chilli though, I'd eat that and laugh at you.

Just round the corner from a certain other drinking establishment.

Yeah, I'd be on the pointing and laughing side of the table...

    Tempted...

Is this European levels of hot or tropical climate levels of hot? I can do one not the other.

I may just go and stand with those laughing at those trying...

Some years ago, a group of us bought one portion of Curry Hell from the Rupali in Newcastle. Between the table, we didn't manage to eat it all.

I like hot and spicy food, but there is such a thing as too fiery, I reckon.

I'll just stick the Encona West Indian hot pepper sauce, and leave my bottle of Dave's for playing tricks on friends. Pimlico's too far from home, anyway.

Some customers complained the peppers were so fiery that even half a small one would make a curry too hot to eat.

I've got 4 Dorset Naga plants just emerging. Hoping for a good crop in the summer... very nice chillis.
