Now look what's happened. You're out for a quiet ride, minding your own beeswax, and before you know it two blokes you've never met are forum fighting over you!!
Aint the internet great!
Wins an Internet+1.
Tell you one thing, if anyone thinks these forums are bad they need to check out some of the gaming forums. People are allowed opinions but they take an extreme on the warcraft forumshttp://www.youtube.com/user/Eurobunneh - My Youtube channel.0 -

Why should I copy and paste a line from the road traffic act? IMO it's sound advice.
And black panther is right...
Who is asking you to cut and paste anything?
Go back to my original post- I said that what you said was only a partial truth and went on to explain that cyclist had no requirement to report accident.
There was nothing incorrect at all in what I said.
I wasn't dealing in truths and falsehoods. It's not a court of law, it's an internet forum, despite the fact you post like you think it's the former. I was offering advice as someone on here as I was concerned for him rather than explaining the letter of the law.
IIRC you always have to have the last say no matter how pedantic and pathetic it makes you sound...
I apologise to the OP for dragging this thread down and I hope you are OK and it all gets sorted.
I promise not to respond to Spen's pedantry any further.0 -

Do i assume you have worked both defence and prosecution? I am curious to know whether you work to a strict application of the law or whether you believe that there can be some room to manouvre. I suspect you are the former?
I find it interesting that those who defend seem to exploit every aspect they can and those who prosecute apply the law in its strictist most simplistic way.0 -
Editted to reinforce my post below: Spen666 normally cites that she works in law, though 4 decades is news to me. She never stats what law, I speculate that its criminal law. I would be interested to know though
Even though I love it when she gets in a bunch about my posts, her posts are useful. Lstly I think she posts in such a succint way as that is the way the law is written/delivered so that it is clear, concise and no grey areas.

this is 2010 - a new decade, so if one started in law in 1989 - 21 years ago - one still covers 4 decades, 80s, 90s, noughties, tennies,
so real number could be anywhere between 21 and 40, as most people will just assume 4 decades = 40 years.
Although I don't understand the need to use such an obscure figure of speech, as a minimum 21 years is still plenty to gain respect......0 -
