3T ErgoNovas - am I missing something

Based on the generally good reviews that they get here, I have just bought a set of 3T ErgoNova Pros.
The blurb for these says "the top of the bar is egg-shaped in section – the longer radius provides a wider top surface for the hands. The egg shape rolls through 180 degrees at the bend into the forward extension, placing the palms naturally onto the brake hoods and ergonomic drops.
To my eyes, it looks as if the tops are egg-shaped in section. However, I don't see any 180 degree roll into the forward extension; it just stops and they are conventional circular section. Am I missing something? Is this a feature of an older version?
