Shimano pedals

I'm just about to take delivery of a new road bike. My old Puch is going into retirement. I currently run SPD's on my MTB and to save buying new shoes would like to use them on the road. Do all Shimano pedals use the same cleat?

    No.

    There are two current formats SPD and SPD-SL. The two are incompatible with one another. SPDs for general use / MTB / Touring / Cross, SPD-SLs for road use.

    fitting your road bike with another set of shimano mtb pedals will work fine
