Increase fork travel but same overall length?

I have upgraded the fork on my 2008 Tyax Super to a Tora 318 air.
It's currently preset at 100mm travel but I'm thinking of increasing it (take
spacer out) to 130mm.

I sent an email to Mongoose to check out the implications like if my frame be okay or if it will ruin the handling?

Based on their reply (see below) Is it true that the forks overall length will not change when altering the travel length?
I've been concerned that increasing the travel to 130mm would mess things up but by the sounds of it it won't make any difference as only the travel will change (use all the length of the stanctions) not the overall length.
I'm not bothered about the warranty as the 2008 Tyax frame is built like a tank and the handling has improved since I changed the fork.

Your bike warranty is already void unless you put the factory fork back
on. When changing forks on one of our bikes you must keep the fork at
the same overall length in order to keep the warranty valid. Even though
that fork has the reducers for 100mm of travel it is still the length of
a 130mm travel fork. Those stops in the fork stop the oil damper from
traveling the entire shock stroke. When a fork is lengthened it causes
extra stress on the head tube of the bike. Even an inch longer will
throw out the entire geometry of the bike and cause it to stress in ways
they it was not designed for.

I think they may be confused. The fork does not have the same length as a 130mm travel fork unless it is 130mm travel

    Mongoose are wrong.

If you reduce the travel of the Tora, it reduces the length of the fork. It is NOT the same length as a 130mm tora.

"Those stops in the fork stop the oil damper from
    traveling the entire shock stroke.

That does not effect the fork in any way at all.

However you will invalidate the warranty if you go above 100mm.

Thought it sounded wrong, pretty poor show from Mongoose :(

I might give it a go, if it feels very wrong I suppose I could run it with more sag until I change it back.
