Can the same inner cables be used for shimano and campag?

sorry for the daft question! Cycling across France next week witha mate and we are doing last minute spares purchasing.

    They are slightly different.

    Some gear cables with a Shimano end and a Campagnolo end, and you snip off the end you don't need. e.g Jagwire

    The nipple on the end is smaller on the Campagnolo gear cables, so it's best always to use a genuine one. I've known people get other makes jammed in the Ergolever.
