Hi

I'm after some new handlebars. They are for trail riding. I want them to be:
Light
Not too high (flat through to mid rizers)
Have a good amount of sweep - 9 to 30 degrees, give or take.
Oversized
Less than 50 quid

Any ideas?

Easton EA70 or if you want wide bars then Pro Atherton 20mm

You could always roll the bars back a bit if they don't have enough sweep

    On-one Fleegle Bar

Just put some on my scandal, they feel wierd but at the same time seem to give cracking control.

They are meant for 29ers but will go on 26ers so they say!

in a similar vein, anybody know of any 31.8mm bars about 700mm wide that have virtually no sweep or rise? below £50 preferably. (sorry for the thread hijack)

Flat with sweep = Salsa? I don't actually like mine, well, I do but they're really wrong for the bike I put them on so now I ride it everywhere at 10mph like I'm popping down to the shops. But they're spot on for the job they're supposed to do.

That's the sort of thing, though I don't think On One do these over sized...

    Anybody use the Ragley bar?

Yep, I do wonder of the Marys are a sweep too far? I need to see some of these options in the flesh I reckon...

Thats the only problem with on-one, you cant just go into a shop and have a look.

I think the only option there would be to buy them and send them back for as refund if you don't like.

I can't. I have never struggled with my 745mm bars. Maybe a tight squeeze but those of us with skill can get away with it 8)

Hah. There's a few bits on one of the trails round Harlaw reservoir that I have to ride through one side at a time with 680mm bars  Same at Bonaly, on the DH courses there there's one line that nobody rides any more but me because it's too narrow for the big bikes

There was one on the pie run I think but they took it out because "because it's funny" didn't cut much ice on the risk assessment... Depends where you ride I guess, purpose built trails tend to be pretty wide.

Anyhoo. 680mm till I die yo. Don't like my 710s, they just feel silly and they don't fit down the side of my house.

I think you just need to learn to ride proprely.

You do get used to your hands getting whacked though.

Was going down pie run on sunday night, stopped at top of magic mushroom, looked down and saw a big chunck of wood welded to my bars which definatly wasn't there before

    Didn't even notice it

You wimp. I could fit another few mm down the side of my house. Just can't lean side to side and stay in the middle. It's all about balance
