Wheel sets ???

Well i am currently building a 2010 Orange crush, (first ever build!) and so far i have found that i am now bust!. I have no money BUT I NEED a good freeride/all mountain wheel SET so at most i can spend £215

Any ideas ???

custom built wheels from crc or merlin

for AM/FR i would probably choose xt hubs with mavic en521 rims? or maybe ex721 if you want something stronger or you weigh alot. also choose the DB spokes as they are stronger

and btw i love the orange crush. happy building

Thanks alot i will look them up right away and what rims would you recommend your self? as when it come to wheel i have not got a clue and i am 11stone and 6ft1

the EN521 are enduro/light freeride rims and as you weigh 11 stone they might perfect. depends what "freeride" is in your case.

i have the EN321 rims which are the cheaper version and they are amazing. also have the xt hub too and it's very smooth and quiet. also i bought my custom wheels from crc

Ok then thanks alot 4 your help i will have a read of the EN521 and i will be doing stuff like small drop and afew jumps (not very big tho :oops:)

should be perfect then. mavic make very good quality,possibly the best rims so you shouldn't worry about them breaking. and i'm happy to help mate

Thats a really nice set james but just too much for me i am going to go with the ones jay12 is on about look gr8 just did the buil on CRC and only comes to £145 so the rest will go towards my pikes

i didn't expect them to be that low. did you choose the 20mm thru axel on the front hub? because IIRC pikes come with 20mm bolt thru axel and you need a specific hub for that

i orderd a set of custom built wheels from merlin for a mate (xt hubs/mavic en521 rims/db spokes) and the rear wheel almost folded after 4 rides breaking 4 spokes and bending a few more, no jumps or drops just general trail center stuff.

i rebuilt the wheel and have had no probs since, usually hear good thing from merlin for wheels but this was not a good build, prob a fri afternoon job.
