Looking to buy a new pair of cycling shoes, what are the best around at the moment ?

I have always had Shimano so fancy a change this time if possible.

Want to spend around £120 or less, unless something special is out there ; )

  • I am a fan of Sidi shoes - a little on the expensive side, but you get what you pay for...
Have a look on Chain Reaction/Wiggle at some of the popular sidi shoes on there then do a price comparison on Google shopping.
I have also owned Northwave shoes - they are really good and cheaper than Sidi's but still good quality.

If you can find 2009 stock or even an ebay bargain, I cannot rate my Specialized S-works shoes highly enough. The 'Boa' fastening system distributes the closing pressure evenly across the top of the shoes and they are suprememly light and stiff.

I picked mine up last autumn as new off ebay for your budget amount, and personally prefer them to the 2010 model.

    +1

I got the 2009 model for £140 recently. They are extremely comfortable (my old Shimanos always squashed my toes) and one of the lightest road shoes available. Plus the white version looks very cool in my opinion 8)

Another +1 for the Sidis. Just brought a pair of Ergo2 carbon for nice summer days.

Good advice on the sizing. Go for a size larger than normal.
