Right guys, it's that time again, I need help. I'm writing a mini dissertation on Kieslowski's Trois Couleurs trilogy, and wondered of anyone knew much about it? Any weblinks, books I should read, supplementary films I should watch (I've been told Haneke is a good start) will be greatly receieved.

Also, what are your opinions on it? Did you think about the aspects of liberte, egalite and fraternite whilst watching?

Cheers in advance

    Juliette Binoche :D:D

Watched them a long time ago.

    Blue: Very good
    White: a bit pants
Red: Not as good as blue, but better than white. And some of it was in English!

    Any help?

er, no, not really. Did I mention that Juliette Binoche was in it?

My advice would be to get on IMDB and read some of the member reviews. Hundreds of them, from some serious buffs.

PS regarding Haneke, I've only seen two of his films Hidden (Cache) and The White Ribbon. Without doubt a true craftsman, beautifully made films. The perfomances from all concerned superb. Hidden I thought very good, disturbing but engaging, thought provoking and very watchable (did I mention that Juliette Binoche is in it?) but can't say the same for White Ribbon. Call me old fashioned but I kind of want my films to have a narrative, a thread, maybe even a conclusion, but it didn't happen. Can't fault the quality but the method was not to my taste. Having said that, following the viewing at Thame Cinema (I'm one of the projectionists!!) http://www.thamecinema.org.uk/, post viewing it was one of the most discussed films we've ever shown, which is I suppose what Mr Hanake was aiming for!
