Problem with frame size.

Hi guys i'm new to the forum. I wonder if i could get some advice before going down to halfords. At the end of last august i bought a tdf in the sale,i asked for a medium sized bike which i took away boxed. I never needed to use the bike straight away so i never set it up. Anyway i have just sold my old bike so over the weekend put the tdf together only to find the frame size is 49cm and the bike feels altogether to small. So i checked the invoice which says that the bike is a medium, on the Evans website a 49cm frame is described as very small.Have i got any recourse of action on this matter or have i left it to late now to do anything about it?Any advice greatfully recieved.

Is there a size printed on the frame itself? Does the top-tube slope downwards? How are you measuring the frame?Cycling weakly0

could not see anythig on the frame, the top bar slopes downwards. I measured from the bottom of the seatpost to the crank, the handlebars are a good few inches lower than my old bike which is 53cm.0

There's a multitude of ways to measure frame - unless you were specific about a frame dimension in the first place, then don't be surprised that you ended up with the wrong thing.Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..0
