Hello

I would like to buy a new bike, I am interested in a performance Hybrid, I would like to use it for weekend exercise. I used to be quite an aggressive rider on road and off road, this used to be my old bike..

My off road will be minimal more tarmac

As you can see quite a soild bike but not fast enough, I then went the road bike route but always got flat tyres.

Im not sure if I should just get the £750 halfords boardman hybrid or the £999 ltd version, but that would require waiting and Id like to just get some thing this weekend.

At a push I dont mind upping the price to £1250 but there has to be a really good reason.

Would like

Large Frame ( I am 6foot2inch)
Front suspesion.
Proper gears on the back not single gear, decent quality componets.
Disc brakes.(would like to try discs brakes out never had them)
Confortable but fast.

Id like to basicly get a nice Performance Hybrid, if I can spend £750 vs £1250 that would be better but id like to get the right bike and Im hoping to go to a shop with a massive range and to be able to talk and sit on a few and weigh them up,

Any input appericated.

Thanks

Cannondale Bab Boy Ultra ... get the 2009 model tho as it has sram groupo which is much better than the shimano stuff ... and as it's last year's it's a couple of hundred quid cheaper as well ...

    for example ...

    http://www.cycleworld.co.uk/product/181 ... ybrid_2009

the headshock locks out and isn't overly springy so takes the knocks out of cobbles etc just fine without any 'dipping' when cornering or braking.

even the saddle is spot on ... so no need to spend another £50-£100 ...

you will need a large (my friend is 6ft 2 and that is what he has) and that size comes with 2 bottle cage mounts (or at least the one in my lbs does)

yeah I was looking at that one, and I do like a dark colour for a bike vs the halfords boardman comp one..

Any shops in london that stock it in large?

Just check the 'Dale site for the london stockists and call them up ... bear in mind that the 2010 model is almost £300 dearer than the exampe i gave above ...

Why not buy online? ... just go to a shop and check out sizes/specs etc. first ...

You'll be wanting a hand turning the pedals next ;)

Bicycle in Richmond. Cannondale dealers and all-round top blokes I reckon.
