I have just fitted a CK BB to my Orange 5, I havent used a spacer on the drive side as I have a lg1 device. I am using an XT crank. I finger tightened the black spindle bolt until I felt a slight resistance (eg the cranks didnt spin as much when you span them) then i did up the pinch bolts on the non drive side as per manufactor specs. Took it for a ride and theres a slight squeek?!? so jumped off and there seems to be a bit of play in the cranks???

Have I spaced the BB correctly? I only have the lg1 device on the drive side. No Spacer on the non drive. I only finger tightened the black plastic bolt.

Am i right in saying that my BB is a 68mm?

Any ideas?

I don't know about the other bits, but just measure the BB shell, it'll either be 68mm or 73mm across. That's a quick answer to at least one question.

Though I suspect you should have used more spacers.

measure the shell. from the site it looks like it should be a 73mm.

reading the manual is a good idea

When you do it up tighter the resistance to turn the cranks increases, I must of not done it up tight enough... I was loving the silky smooth rotations :)

    Cheers for your help chaps.

After contacting CRC, they said I should take it to my LBS.. not quite the response i wanted. So last night I removed the circlip and pressed the outer spacer into the cup then repalced the rubber o ring and then refitted the circlip. All fixed now.... just need to put the bike back together before my trip to afan on friday ;)
