My wifes bike is currently running DA 7900 with a 53/39 chainset
She fine until we hit the bigs hills and then she struggles a bit
I want to change it to a compact and have been concidering either a Ultegra 6750 or DA 7950 chainset
I have read that the spacing on the chainriings is wider apart than previous models.
Would these still work with a DA 7800 shifter and 7800 front mech, or am I better just fitting an older Ultegra 6650 compact chainset
thanks
Simon

Cheers John
meant to say she is running DA 7800 groupset not 7900
I expected as much, so I am limited to 6650 or the R700 crankset then

Good prices going about on 105 compact chainsets, look just like Ultegra 6600 if that`s what you`re wanting Hollow forged arms etc.Jens says "Shut up legs !! "

Stokey - I just picked up an Ultegra 6650 SL Compact chainset on Evans Website for £120 - It even came with a 6600 SL Bottom Bracket - absolute snip I thought and looks great in Ice Grey and black. Its OEM so no fancy packaging and Evans delivered in 48 hrs under their Free Delivery. FCR600 is £85 but not as hard wering as the 700 and a bit heavier as not hollowtech.
