Get you and your bike to the top of Mt Everest!

Yes it really can be done. My Brother inlaw and his fiancee are planning to climb Mt Everest in 2011 in aid of Unicef. If you go to www.patchexpedition.com you can upload a photo of you and your bike and get it on the largest flag to be taken to the summit.. Now there's bragging rights for you, "Yeah I have a picture of me and my bike on the summit of Mt Everest!" :D

    That's the only way you'll get a bike to the top of Everest. I've been to Base Camp and a bike is not on the equipment list :)

    What was base camp like .blitz? I've always harboured a bit of a desire to go there, but I'd be gutted if I went all that way and couldn't see Everest for cloud.

    We trekked there with Exodus in Oct/Nov 1998. There are a lot of trees up to about 14,000 ft but the terrain at Base Camp (17,500 ft) is more mountainous and the views are understandably spectacular (weather permitting). The approach from the North (Tibet) side is recommended for a big mountain experience.
