If it was your money and you had to choose which of these wheels to buy, what would your choice be????????????????

Crossrides, great value, bit of a benchmark, look great and vast majority of folk rate them highly0
-
Crossrides are great vfm. I had a pair on my Kinesis Maxlight. I changed the QRs though as I think the standard ones are made of lead!
Never tried the Superstars, but I'm considering a pair of the SuperLeggeras for my Marin.0 -
Crossrides, had a pair on my inbred for the past 8 months
and they've performed flawlessly0 -
well, when I had crossrides they were very good.
BUT, when I needed a replacement part, it took Mavic AGES to get it sent out, then they charged truly STUPID money for it. This has put me right off using them again.
Superstar have always delivered great quality stuff at brilliant VFM with great support if it's ever needed.
For that reason, I'd give the Tech 2s a try0 -
i agree with CWNT. replacing broken spokes on mavic wheels costs more than normal ones and IIRC you can only get them directly from mavic.
you could also get custom built wheels from CRC. like xt hubs on mavic rims with dt swiss spokes will cost about the same as the crossrides or superstar0 -
Yeah, I'd be tempted by custom - SLX or XT hubs on 317/717 rims with ACI DB spokes.0

Cheers for the info. Superstars are only £100 at mo and i can't get a set of custom rims less than that, surely?????Project Finished....On-one Inbred..

You could but they would be absolute crap!!!
Just go and get the superstars while they are still really cheap0 -
Erm, you can.
Merlin: Deore Hubs, XM717 rims and ACI double butted spokes for £93. Hand built. Upgrade the rear to XT and just £1060 -
Either I'm going blind or you must be looking at different Merlin to me Sonic 'cos I can't get any 717 rims, deore,xt hub combo for less than £150......Puzzled I am!!!!!!!!Project Finished....On-one Inbred..
