I miss my bike!

Last week I decided to take the plunge and get the old bike upgraded; new chain, chainset, cassette, bottom bracket and the freehub. Getting the bike to the shop he quoted me around £120 for the lot, all Campag mid range stuff. I leave the bike with him for 2 days and pop in on the expected completion date 'I can't get the bottom bracket out' he exclaims. He then regales me with the methods on how to get it out (heating it up and making a real mess of the paintwork). He's obviously not keen on doing it so I bring it home.

Thinking about it I decided to try another shop, one nearby (who are more expensive but they have done good jobs before). I explain the situation, he looks none to keen but says if I give him £20 to book it in they'll have a bloody good go at sorting it. I pay up, sod it you know, and leave my baby and number with him.

As of yet no bike and no word; so I'm sat here somewhat bored and really missing my crapheap of a bike. I've been told to buy a new bike but in all honesty I can't really afford anything bar £200 at the moment.

Why am I telling you this? I just fancied a bloody moan

Don't blame the bike shops for your poor maintenance

Sounds like a perfect time to go the ol' interest free finance route to me....every cloud..... 8)
