Following on from bike of the year - which chose bikes up to £2500 - some people argued this was a pointless because most of us can not spend £2500 on a new bike.....so how much did or will you spend on your new bike

you're assuming that people only ever buy complete bikes. I think there are a lot of riders out there (myself included) who tend to buy components - rather than 'off the peg' bikes....

Too much - certainly more than my ability warrants.
Carlsberg don't make cycle clothing, but if they did it would probably still not be as good as Assos

Your numbers need to go higher. My next frame will be more than £2.5.

Only possible if you buy the complete kit at the same time. My bikes are like Trigger's broom, I've had them since I was at school but they've had numerous frames, countless wheels etc etc

Well, I have just got my new bike, next one will be in maybe 24 months, and over the 2.5k mark.

Oct 09 I bought myself some nice carbon, 09 model for £2500, for the same bike but the 2010 model - £3400 and it looks the same spec..... bargain. Still, had to sell the motorbike to get it.

Bought it today - a regal jester frameset for 65 quid. Last week bought a Look 565.
