Le Mevel and Cioni seemed to come off the worst in the crash. Christian Meier of Garmin-Transitions also went down (not VDV as cn.com reported).

OH, COME ON. SOMEONE DO SOMETHING!!!

You know they're glass cranking when Frank Schleck is leading the group on the descent.

Perfect situation for Contador, really. The duller the better for him.

All that can cheer me up at this stage is to see the last 5km of the road to Tourrettes covered in random obsceneties.

A victory for the green bullet would cheer me up. Anti-doping principles be damned, he's my PTP pick.

If you mean the ES radio, it does sometimes but not all. Often there are video links with English commentary but a lot of the time ES is showing some other dodgy sport...

Disgraceful that no one tried to push the pace or attack Contador. Whether he is the best climber or not, someone has got to try and get a gap and have the teammates cause trouble for Contador...maybe catch him on a bad day.

It would have been nice to see Contador attack too - 14 secs isn't very much, he could likely distance most, it makes things more interesting. Maybe he didn't want to take his fellow Spaniards win.

On which point, massive kudos to Tondo for a great solo move. Really pleasing to see this succeed.

That the lead group was so large and had many people not noted for climbing strength is indicative of how slow, relatively, these GC climbers were going.

Nice to see Valverde still has his dangerous finishing kick.

must admit i thought it was a really boring stage, cant even get excited about tondo as the chase behind was pointless, and other reasons il keep to myself

Good, since Eurosport went AWOL, after 3 hours and with 8km to go....

  • I have had "problems" with Eurosport all week in that the commentary seems to be a few seconds in advance of the pictures. Has anyone else had this? Mind you, when DH shouts crash it does give you a chance to look up from the laptop and actually see it...

Didn't think Astana looked too strong. They could've have made a good pace which would've calmed things down a bit but it turned out to be a scrappy ending. AC seemed a little exposed. I think the climb seemed more of a drag which means that attacks were not such a good option; easier to pull back.
I'm not sure what the time bonus' are. I think Valverde must win the stage with AC out of the top 3-4??? I don't think Valv coud drop AC on the descent in to Nice whereas Lius Sanchez could get away a bit better. Interesting last stage though. I'm happy with that; good racing!! Nice weather too; fancy hopping on a plane and doing a bit down there myself.
I did lose my bike saddle in Nice where the bikes were on the roof and we turned off the main drag around Nice and went under a height restriction device (a suspended thick metal sheet a few metres above the carriageway-suppose to stop lorries etc) which ripped off my £50 Sella Italia saddle which I slightly needed for the next 2 weeks riding. :?

I've had Sky + fail every time I've tried to record P-N or T-A this week. Anyone else having issues?
