I did the opposite recently. I have only ever heard bad things about Coventry so I decided that I would take the family there for a day out, hope for the best and keep an open mind.

Turns out that everyone was right, it's a right turd of a place.

I am sorry for upsetting anyone reading this who lives there, then again I am sorry for anyone reading this who lives there

On the plus side, went to Bognor Regis, unexpectedly nice (in a seaside Victorian kind of way).

After coming to N.Wales for years on holiday, read an article on the Newborough Forest area in a Walking mag. Mother-in-law say's "It's only a few miles away..."

Got there, and it was amazing! Beautiful beaches, dunes, pine forests.
According to my mate who live in the States, it reminds him of California.
Was used in "Half-light" Demi Moore spooky thriller.

There are miles of fire-roads, singletrack and "secret" trails. Theres some old preserved Pilots cottages, lighthouse and Celtic crosses as it's also known for being St Dwynwens place, the Welsh patron saint of lover, eg, Valentines...

Now, I can see it from my house, about 3 miles across the Menai Straits, as the crow flies. But, to get there, I've got to got to Bangor, then to S.West Anglesey, total 25 miles.

Anyone got a free boat they don't want?
