What you will get for doing 81mph on your bike? A place in the olympic squad I should hope.

mandatory 3 pts, providing licence is clean, fined £?, oh, and a kick up the a**e for failing to spot the numerous cameras that operate up there.
and another kick up the a**e for driving so fast you missed all the glorious scenery.

Yeah, you'll get nicked for bigging up Dundee, but not any other Scot's places...

You should post this in Campaign, offering £50 to anyone who will take the rap for you as you already have nine points.

Then sit back and enjoy the 25 pages of replies you generate...

Ask to see the photographic evidence first. Make sure it's actually a photo that shows you at the wheel.

There are a few other steps that can be taken - PM me if you like for a couple of tips :) Not that I know anything at all about getting off speeding tickets

Bigging up Dundee is an offence all on its own.

Or, given that the OP got caught red handed, he could just MTFU and accept his just deserts whilst remembering the 1000s of times he (like most of us) have got away with it in the past.

Not all that many fixed cameras on the A9 north of Perth.
I'm sure there are 3 these days between Perth and Dalwhinnie

Southbound: Start of the straight over the Gary to the Blair Atholl junction
North Bound: I think it's after the Pitlochry South junction and just before Dunkeld.

Going south there used to be one at Ballinluig that went with the upgrade, and one at Bankfoot which also went with an upgrade.

The only bit of the A9 that actually looks nice is the dual carraigeway between CAlivine and Drumochter summit.

I thought they weren't allowed to hide - is this true?

Was that thursday? I was on the way back from skiing yesterday at Cairngorm, didn't see any vans, but I reckon a speed gun in Coire Cas might have clocked me at near 81mph a couple of times

As far as I know it is correct that they aren't allowed to hide, you can see the reflectives from miles off, so if you got clocked at 81, you were either
    a) going much faster than that before you slowed down or
    b) you never noticed the van before it clocked you, in which case you really are a danger regardless of what actual speed you were doing

I'm with Rolf F on this one.

EDIT: what's wrong with Dundee anyway? I'm always happy to big up my adopted home, unlike most Dundonians, who never miss an opportunity to slag it

Looking at points and a fine. You won't be offered the speeders rehab thing as you were caught too far over the limit IIRC.
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.

didn't specifically mean the A9, i meant the whole of Scotland in general - there are hundreds of the buggers dotted about , and given the beautiful scenery o'er the border i can't understand anyone wanting to speed, and considering poster was heading south back to England.....why the hurry?
