Help with royal rivet shorts sizing

I just got these off CRC for half the price, size XS. I had the sub shorts from royal in size Small and those were a bit big so this time I took their rivet shorts in size XS....thing is, it looks and feels like an XL, wtf ? 
I can't fit it without using the velcro straps. Do all royal shorts come this big? I'd appreciated any advice on this, thanks.
it's these shorts. aside from odd sizing this is a very quality product, no wonder it retailed 100$.

While not getting any replies here, I've contacted Royal and there seem to be a failure in stitching the right size to the shorts I got...looks like I got a L or a XL with a XS label stitched inside it. Epic fail. 0
