New signage at Gisburn (Finally)
Was up there digging today and noticed the new signs are finally in.
I particularly like the bits at the bottom.
Lot of work going on up there at the moment, repair work on the big berms in Hully Gully, about 60% resurfaced, hopefully to be finished this Sunday but will still be closed for a few weeks to let it bed in. Log ride section is coming on nicely, should be open in a month or two. Exciting new area being planned as well, HOPEfully being sponsored by a big player in the bike industry, watch this space.

Hi, I was up there today and had a great ride, top section is still very gloopy but didn't bother us. Where is the new log section going to be? Can't wait for the gully to be reopened!0

Tis a huge secret (which everyone seems to know about anyway). It's off to the left of the flatish section of fireroad in the middle, before the steep climb up to the quarry. Not open yet but hopefully will by the end of April / begining of May.It's easier to ask for forgiveness than for permission.

Was up Gisburn today (edit yesterday) and it bit me. Whizzing along the trail at Simons Swamp a rock jumped out in front of me sending me over the bars at 15 mph. My knee is nicely swollen and turning a lovely shade of blue.
I'nt mountain biking greatFig rolls: proof that god loves cyclists and that she wants us to do another lap0 -
You didn't pass a big tall lass stood at the side of the track on the lower loop looking stupid did you?..if you did it was me

No dont think I saw you we left the car park at Cocklett about 12 got back to car about 2:45, I think we only saw about a dozen people on the trail.
We werent going very fast because my mate has been having trouble with a pinched nerve in his shoulder. He was okay for the first 10k but tweaked it on one of the boggy bits where he nearly slid off but managed to get a foot down but jolted himself in the process. He looked a bit grey by the time we got back to the car and was basically riding one handed.Fig rolls: proof that god loves cyclists and that she wants us to do another lap0 -
Well we nearly completed the resurfacing of the Gully, only about 30 yards left and a bit of stone pitching. Martin's also said he may be able to get his guys out on trail repairs once they finished tree planting (which to be honest is what they're employed to do) so hopefully by the summer Gisburn may be slightly less boggy. It's easier to ask for forgiveness than for permission.

Some bits are pretty trashed arent they. I wish I had fitted a decent knobbly back tyre rather than the worn out Maxxis Ignitor semi slick I had on. Would have spent less time spinning away going nowhereFig rolls: proof that god loves cyclists and that she wants us to do another lap0 -
Mmm not an ideal Gisburn tyre choice there stubsIt's easier to ask for forgiveness than for permission.

Just ordered a Maxxis Advantage 62a folding. Hopefully will have a bit more grip.Fig rolls: proof that god loves cyclists and that she wants us to do another lap0

I rode like a squid yesterday lol....I nearly fell off on the first bit of home backed ...back wheel hit a stone and pinged me right out of the saddle! typical coz I had the video cam on

Home baked
interrestingly enough stubs I've got two of those very tyres heading my way this Friday (turns out my wife's cousin's husband, no this isn't a joke, works for MMA Sports, the UK Maxxis importer, trade prices for me, hee hee). It's easier to ask for forgiveness than for permission.
