Well even though I'm straight (ish) I have to agree he's a good looking guy. If I was gay then I'm afraid I'd have to plumb for Patrick Stewart, intelligent, good looking, nice guy and rich.

But when he opens his mouth and speaks. Doesn't come across as the brightest spark.

As a footballer at what he does I wouldn't say he's overrated. Hard to find a better player who can strike a football. His crosses and free kicks are sublime.

in a world of vain, shallow, grasping, detatched, self important, arrogant footballers, Beckham has always shone out as a humble, approachable, generous, appreciative nice fella. A great ambassador for english football. When you think of his huge profile, I think he's remarkably grounded. Ok, he's no Einstein, but he is class on and off the pitch IMO (leaving aside his fashion faux pas)

Saw him once in Est Est Est in Knutsford just when he was making it into the 1st team. I didn't recognise him at first but even without that the first thing I thought was..."bloody hell that's a good looking man..."....which is not something I'm prone to doing

I also have spent some time with people who worked with him at Man Utd right up 'till he left and all say he is a really nice guy. If you noticed last night when he was walking down the tunnel there were some older women who he stopped and kissed and hugged, I'd guess they were staff from the player's lounge or such, and women like that don't go out of their way to say hi to a player (they've seen hundreds) unless they are really fond of him.

Also I was told that he's WAY sharper than he's given credit for.

Nice bloke. He has done well and seems to have appeal across a broad spectrum.

I'd like his money, not the fame though.

But then, that missus of his is a liability. The Loos thing was kind of understandable.

We have all made mistakes, better he works through any problems than just split their family, like so many people nowadays. One major bump and its all over, you have to work out problems I think, especially if you have a good marriage and children.

Didn't she (Rebacca Loos) do something with a pig ?

I've only seen him in the flesh once.He was playing in a friendly against Croatia at Portman Road about 7 years ago and was probably at his peak(both in football terms and looks -not that I'm gay or owt!).
Bearing in mind the relative unimportance of the match ,"unfashionable" venue, etc ,the obvious pride he took in appearing in an England shirt was refreshing, pity his attitude hasn't rubbed off on some of the other money grubbing yobs currently in the national squad.
