Good afternoon all,

I have just removed and serviced the Cup and Cone on my mountain bike. They should now last until the end of the summer but i was wondering is it possible to replace with a sealed bottom bracket.

It is an old bike that i have rescued from landfill and have used as a project to learn how a mountain bike fits together.

Thanks

Andy J

Yes most likely, just measure your bottom bracket shell on the frame for the width and measure the axle length of your current bottom bracket.

keep it until it dies! My old hack had a c&c bb- there was something deeply satisfying about servicing it instead of just chucking it out and plugging in a new one. that is, until I managed to completely shear one of the cups, leaving it stuck in the shell
