That is not the response I was hoping for It is my gaming machine so will certainly notice it.0 -

What's it like in the first place?
There is a big difference between doubling something that is okay compared to doubling something that is awesome.0 -
Well I have started playing a game other than Crysis (Bad company 2) that I can't run on full graphics at 1680x1050 and it's driving me mad.Ho hum wrote:What's it like in the first place?
At present the system is probably on par with a PS3 (ATI 3850 512mb)0 -

ATi 3850 to an ATi 4850, both of which are below the recommended for Bad Company 2 but the 3850 manages just fine on medium graphics hovering around the 25-30 framerate.
All of the testing on Toms Hardware suggests a doubling of framerate (I know this may not be accurate depending on my CPU) so I am sorely tempted. This will invlve trading in my current card for the new one which is why it is so cheap.0 -
4850 is good and less power hungry. which is good enviro reason.
aslong as you have about 4gig of ram anyways in your pc you should see plenty off difference with this and i would say yup good gaming upgarde for a good price0 -
get some kcnc case bolts while you're at it.SOLD!0

Right, next week I am gonna go for it, and since RAM is usually only a few quid I will pick up a little extra to
I can't remember if I took some RAM out of the gaming PC and put it in the media PC at some point :? will be looking into that when I get home!
