tour gpx downloads and garmin 705 edge

hi, not sure if this is the right forum but........
i have just bought a 705 and while i can make my own routes on bikehike and upload to the 705 i just cant for the life of me work out how to get the 'gpx' route files provided by 'tour' organisers ....> here http://www.kilotogo.com/index.php?optio ... vent_id=12 onto my 705.
im sure it must be easy but i cant work it out. when ever i try and save it, it always appears as a xml file??
help please

If you right click on the .gpx link and select 'save target as'
Then select 'All Files' and name the file (anything you want) type .gpx at the end, it'll work.
I double checked the file worked with bike route toaster before posting.0 -

You can save as a .gpx or .tpx from this as well.0 -
Works for me. Right click on the link and do a save link as:
I'd rename it something.gpx and the just copy it into the right folder on your Garmin.
Should be able to select it from where to>saved rides.0 -

out of interest how did you get the route 'into' bike route toaster?0 -
If you create a user account (which is free) you can upload .gpx and .tpx file from your local hard drive via the 'courses' tab.0

One thing to consider is the number of waypoints in the route guides. You might have to split them down into sections the 705 can handle, 100 WPs max IIRC.I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.0
