Hi All,
I have a boardman ltd edition carbon road bike and was wondering at what sort of level are the Ritchey pro wheels that come on it and what sort of weights are they likely to be?
What would be thir price comparative rivals?
The reason behind my questions are that i read about the wheels usually being the week link and one of the easiest parts to change that will give a noticeable improvement, by this i mean if i brought a lighter set they would accelerate faster and be easier on the climbs.
Only problem here is that i don't know what wheels compare to the Ritchey pro's and what would be the next step up in terms of quality/weight?
Will be considering wheels from mavic,Campag,dt swiss, shimano etc so all suggestions are welcome.
Thanks in advance.

They are fine.Good quality and pretty light.
Wouldn't bother replacing them unless the bearings go or they break.0 -
The guy at my local LBS said they were a good wheel and not to spend for the sake of spending, and he would have got the business!!Limited Edition Boardman Team Carbon No. 448

+3 Ride them till they fall apart, then think about replacing them.
If you're looking for something that will get you up hills quicker, I can recommend riding up lots of hills, or even riding up one hill lots of times.
You'll get much more benefit for zero outlay.
If on the other hand you have money burning a hole in your pocket you could still go for titanium bottle cage bolts or more aerodynamic bar tape.0 -
Thanks for the replies and they are noted, but just out of curiosity then ...what would be their equivelant wheels from mavic, shimano and fulcrum etc? Aksium's or say ksyriums??? Fulcrum 7's ??
Thanks.Giant Trance X3
