I'm looking to replace my Ultegra cassette and the LBS has SRAM Rival and Ultegra cassettes at the same price. Both will work with my setup, same ratios, similar weight, is one better than the other? Thanks

Both have steel cogs. Nickle plated - Shimano ........ heat treated - Sram.
Probably get pretty much equal service life out of either. I've used both without problems.0 -
My experience is that the Shimano shifts better and runs smoother.
Many of the SRAM sponsored pro's still run Shimano cassettes and chains.More on my blog: http://glorycycles.blogspot.com/0 -
I don't think there is much in it in reality. Maybe the nod goes to Shimano but it's not a clear gap IMO. Itend to run Simano on the MTB and SRAM on the roadie.
SRAM fit on my alu freehub more snugly (Tune) so that's the deciding factor for me on the road bikes. The Shimanos cause some chewing.

Having recently been in a similar situation, I went for a 6700 cassette and chain with Sram shifters and mechs - I found the shifting noticeably smoother than an all Sram set up.0

SRAM has recently reverted back to PowerGlide instead of OpenGlide for their 2010 cassettes. That might have something to do with it.x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x
