Is there anywhere i can get a selection of components anodised ?
Rather than buy the components in the colour i want thought would be far easier to get the components i already own anodised.
Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks
Matt

If you have some aluminium alloy parts they may be suitable for anodising but the cost for small quantities may not be worth it, but I guess the companies above would be happy to quote.0 -

Not all grades of aluminium will turn out the same colour IIRC.0

not all grades of Alu can be anodised either although most of the stuff that bike parts are made out of should be.0 -

Is it easy enough to re-anodise items in a different colour?
I'd like to change the colour of the adjusters on my fox forks0 -

Indeed it can; I used to work for a firm that amongst other things did aluminium anodising for the constrution trade .... colour matching in anodising really is more art than science. The main reason is that part of the colour comes from the metal itself as the finish is usually translucent so extrusion / machined sections of the same alloy can come out differently
Also, many alloys, particularly ones used in casting which contain high amounts of Silicone (iirc) will not anodise effectively, they just come out looking corroded (anodising is a controlled corrosion process afterall)Everything in moderation ... except beer
Beer in moderation ... is a waste of beer
If riding an XC race bike is like touching the trail,
then riding a rigid singlespeed is like licking it
... or being punched by it, depending on the day0 -
so after raising this post i contacted steve at acornplating & discussed getting some stuff done.
Heres the result.
