Both great bikes but just cannot choose.
I like to ride up steep and down steep,
I also have a demo 8 for the big stuff so this bike is out about getting the most out of trails without having to push up
Local trals are south and north downs at the mo and then what I can find in cornwall as will be there from 2011.
HELP PLEASE...

I wonder why Spicy's are common :roll:0 -
Both seem a lot of bike for what you describe, especially as you have a specific DH bike. If I was you I think I'd be looking more at around 140mm travel, ie. Zesty's, Stumpy's etc.0

Both bikes are alot, its just when I get to some really excellent trails that just so happen to have a good bit of DH I just dont want to miss the fun.
They may be a bit of overkill for most runs but this bike had to stay with me for a good 3 years.
I`ve heard that the lapierre frame is just so good and delivers a rocking ride ?0 -
Maybe the genius then as has the 150 travel so a happy medium.
It also has the steeper HA for cheaky singke track and and full 150 travel and 67.5 for the fast bit.
hmmmmmmmmmmm

I'd say the genius, but i'm biased. The traction control system is VERY good, excellent for climbing and i'd really reccommend it. I have one of the older ones, climbs very well, descends well too, great all round trail machine. I'm not sure the spicy would climb as well, and i don't know about descending, but doesn't it have 20mm travel more front and rear? The genius should be more than enough.0

Quite agree, have a Genius MC 20 2008, cracking bike but meed just that bit more hence the Lapierre but then the 2010 genius has 150mm travel now and a better suspension so maybe hard ti beat

id go for the spicy. the scott rear shock is very complex and i know a few people who have lost alot of riding time whilst getting their shocks fixed, maybe the shocks are better on the newer bikes but from past reports it puts me off the scottsViner Salviati
