New Bike needed

Hi,
I am looking for a new bike to replace a stolen one. I would like a do-it-all hardtail. I enjoy trail riding but do love dropping down nice steep hills (mild downhill)and tackling good rough rooty sections. But I cannot decide....would appreciate some advice.
