Looking to upgrade from my American Classic 350's
Light at 1410g a pair.
I can upgrade to CX Rays to get to 1300g which is light.

I must admit that I love the Mavic wheels for their robustness and £1350 is a lot of money for a set of 1295g clinchers.
The Tune wheels look ace...tested in CP recently and would give me a weight reduction and that aerodynamic edge....but £1700 is very expensive.

Anyone running the Mavic or Tune wheels?
Thoughts?

I have tried the Normal Mavic Rsys wheels. I chose Dura Ace wheels in the end over them as I couldn't get past the carbon straw spoke thang. However, they were amazing, the only wheels I have used that had absolutely zero flex whatsoever when giving it big legs, especially on a climb...

However, Aero is not one of their strong points...

I had a pair of standard R-Sys wheels for about a year, and as NapD says, they really do have no flex whatsoever in corners or hard out-of-saddle efforts, but they are not a very quick feeling wheel overall.

The final straw came when I did a week long tour through the Alps, and chose to take my Ksyrium SL Premiums instead. This was based on a) feeling that any side loading the wheels got in the flight case would damage them, and b) I didn't fully trust them on 50mph + descents; the thought of them giving out at that speed just wasn't going to make my rides fun.

In the end I sold them (for bloody good money to be honest), I just didn't fully trust them.

The HED Ardennes I replaced them with are lighter, almost as stiff and a lot quicker overall, for a pretty reasonable cost.
