Good in ear earphones

Not really up for the should you listen to music or not debate whilst commuting. I am aware of the risks of not hearing traffic. My all round perception is good and I'm happy with the choice I am making.....
So - I have never really liked in ear earphones, they tend to hurt my ear after a while and when riding the wind noise annoys me. They never feels really secure either. Also standard ipod earphones are a bit tinny. Big on ear earphones offer great bassy sound but are not really practicle with a helmet etc.
Can anyone recommend decent in ear earphones that are comfy, fit the ear well, offer good sound quality and bass and cut out wind noise as best they can......
Money not really an object...... (I aint re-mortgaging the house though!)

woooha - some real gooduns there! My money no object quote should be retracted - I'd be looking at the entry level of some of those - Perhaps I should say £100 max budget!
But still some great ideas.......0 -
ive got the sony ex71 which are the same as the senheisser's cx300, Very good earphones, stay in well except for on the Very hot sweaty days when one occasionally falls out, but otherwise Spot on,Timmo.

Sennheisers, CX500 if you can afford the extra, CX300 if not. Beware there are a lot of fake 300s around."Melancholy is incompatible with bicycling." ~James E. Starrs0

Another vote for the Sennheisers.. great sound and good value..0

I'd go for the cx300s also, really very good indeed.
If you want to bump up the quality and sound isolation, try etymotic ER4Ps. Awesome. They are my default and use them a lot.
If you have an iphone, try the hf2s for nearly as good sound as the ER4Ps, plus a mic and stuff on the wire.
God forbid if you ever visit the headfi forums: http://www.head-fi.org/forums/
I am not a hi fi geek, but was looking for good in ear headphones and they make you spend far. too. much. money!
Good advice though!

I always find in ear phones fricking annoying with exercise. For riding I use neckband over ear phones - no problems with helmet - I tend to use Sennheisers too - and the bonus is that they are pretty good value too. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sennheiser-PMX6 ... ce_title_0
Oh I've got CX300s for "normal usage" - you ain't going to beat them, but as an added advantage, the overears keep your ears warm in cold weather and allow for a "little" more road awareness than the in-ear noise blockers!http://www.georgesfoundation.org

+1 for Shure, I have the cheapest ones at around £50 very good, and I have tried loads before I got there. Really comfy and sound amazing.0

I have a pair of Shure SE115's and they are quality. They come with a pack of different size buds too.

I've got a pair of the Shure E3C's (I think they are now the SCL3. They sound amazing and are some of the best money I've spent.
Also when I was looking around a few years ago it seemed to be that the Etyomtic's were very clear but had a bit less bass, the Shure's were better for mid range stuff like and he SuperFi's were a bit more basey. Not much in it though and have a look at HeadFi for what is good for what music now.
Also, good canal phones do sound different than other headphones. They block out a lot of noise and the sound is very very clear and seems like it's in your head. If found this a bit much for running and biking. Maybe just me though but its a lot of money to drop if you only want to use them on the bike and don't get on with being deafThe revolution will not be televised0 -
after trying a number of pairs of headphones from the highest priced headphones to the lowest, i found these were the best hands down and could`nt reccommend them enough,,,Great price, Very comfortable, Great sound,, !!!

+1 - got the same ones. Great sound and they fit any ear with different buds.0 -
Personally if budget wasn't an option then customs all the way they far surpass standard iem's.
For exercise then sennheiser cx400/cx500's id avoid the 300's way too many fakes kicking about just look at the feedback on ebay i got a good pair for a tenner and the sound they produce was quite surprising given the price.
Id avoid shure and ultimate ears, ue's can be bulky but the replacement cables are nice whilst shure are known to suffer with cables splitting and exercise adds to this, just buy a cheap pair of senns and off you go.The trouble with having an open mind, of course, is that people will insist on coming along and trying to put things in it.

Is it just me or would anyone else feel like they just been butted raped for paying from anything of £20 upwards for a pair of inner earphones?
Whats wrong with a pair from poundland!0
