I doubt many people will have heard of him here, but I just found out that Mark Linkous of Sparklehorse has died of an apparent suicide. One of my favourite musicians ever. I know it's glib to say how gutted you are when a "famous" person dies... but this time it's actually true.

As soon as I saw the thread title I feared the worst - RIP. Great talent, really loved Someday I Will Treat you Good (?) and Sick of Goodbyes to name but two. Will have to dig out the old vinyl...0

This is really terrible news. I've spend a good few hours in his company and he was a lovely guy. It was tough enough when he was confined to a wheelchair but at least he made a recovery and his last couple of records had been great.0
