As an animal who had more clicks on his picture from this site than any other,I have to let you all know he passed away on Friday evening as the result of gastric torstion{twisted stomach}a problem for large chested dogs.
So for the last time here he is,:cry::cry:

Only other dog lovers can really appreciate your pain. We lost our first Golden Retriever a few years ago and it just wasn't the same at home. I always felt that there was something missing. After a couple of months my wife suggested getting another dog and that's just what we did. He's not a replacement but he has his own personality and is another member of the family.

It's such a shame those dogs don't live long. A friend of mine had a German Shepard, beautiful animal and extremely affectionate; he lived an amazing life for 4 years. Sorry for your loss, big hugs to you.

Condolences Bag, I had seen Dane from your links previously. Lost our German Shepherd/Border Collie when he was 17. Cried for ages then but only smile when I think of him now, usually whenever I cant find a sock or a letter gets ripped :)

so sorry to hear, I remember when you first put pics of that handsome boy on this forum, they don't live long enough do they, I lost my 15 year old border collie cross a couple of years ago.

It doesn't get easier, so to say ..... sorry
