I have cycled part of this route ( From Failford to ayr) but was wondering if anyone had done the upper part of the Way, ie glen buck to failford. is it rideable? approx times. any info would be great.

Thanks

Hi , a group of us did it on New Years Day 2 years ago in - 4 c . started at Glenbuck and carried on all the way to the end at the pier down Ayr shore . Took us about 6 hrs , about an hour of that was lifting over gates and narrow bridges . The route is all rideable just a pain with all the gates , some good sections at Sorn and down the waters edge at Annbank ( this bit only accesible when waters low ) Interesting narrow boardwalk at various bits , you can just stay on bike if you have wide bars . Good ride , lots of good bits along the way . ENJOY

East Ayrshire Council has maps and wallet full of plastic coated route cards.
