Chainrings

Hi I'm looking at cranks for the new build, but quite alot come without chainrings. It will be singlering, so firstly should I buy a singlering chainring and what do I need to note when buying once? The diameter between the bolts....?

Bolt Circle Diameter and pattern ie 4 or 5 bolt. Don't meed ramps or pins as not changing at the front.

They're 4 bolt, and how do I find out the BCD of the cranks?

Measure it. Have a look on park tools.
