Too small, exchange them. Gloves are something that should be 100% comfortable
  • Too small gloves will give you aching hands after a few hours riding, plus you may get blisters. I'd exchange them
  • I always buy gloves a size too big anyway. They seem to shrink.
  • If the inbetween-the-fingers bits are tight against the bits inbetween your fingers, they may be OK.

I have the same gloves, is it me or is the positioning of the velcro strap bits REALLY irritating?

  • I think you should find somewhere to try on he next size up. Gloves that are too big are a nightmare. I would say that with most clothing you can get away with the item being a bit too big or too small but not with gloves. If you are not lucky enough to find a good fit straight away I would get to a big shop with a lot of choice, try them all on and go with the comfiest option.
