Compared with forums dedicated to other sports how do you find the level of debate on this forum?
I find that compared to some of the football forums I visit, the level of debate on here is quite well informed. People seem a bit more reserved/restrained. I think this has been highlighted by the Venables question.

A purely personal view:
Generally footie forums are the maddest I've come across and descend almost instantly into ritual abuse and very ucrious pselling. However, I take part in a sub-forum on the Guardian's pick the score site and we spend our time inventing silly games and sub-leagues, keeping spreadsheets, and I've just uploaded graphs to the site blog. No one has ever insulted anybody on this thread and one of the guys, Spanish, had difficulty getting his head around the idea of a football forum where people stayed calm and were primarily interested in football as football and not football as my team. So a sensible football forum is possible. But rare.
I'd say that from my experience, this site is very good. I just had a run-in over on commuting (and, to tell the truth, I've not finished - revenge is a dish that's best served cold...) but that's the exception that proves the rule. If you have a question, people are almost always eager to answer it. It's possible 99% of the time to keep the lid on things, and there's a spirit of very good humour when it's meant to be funny (cyclists seem to have a very well-developed sense of the absurd), and seriousness when it's a subject of concern. It's only that 1% of the time when things go askew.0
