Hey so I bought a specialised epic 2 years ago second hand (good condition) and have been progressing my riding into a more AM freeride type of thing. The thing is a week ago I went off of a 4 ft drop and broke a couple of spokes and slightly bent the rim. I know its an xc racer and this type of riding isnt ideal but how far can I push this bike?

I have 2.1 tyres and it's stock rims on.

Cheers!

Hard if you are smooth, and the drops are into transitions. But 4 foot to flat? Too much I think.

But if you are progressing as you say, then probably time for a tougher bike.

yeah, i would say its new bike time, but it will be OK for trail riding, and small drops into transitions...

Fix the wheel, keep the epic for xc, and get something like a pitch for all mountain/freeridey stuff
