I've just ordered a Boardman Team carbon but since the wheels/hubs get bad reviews will i be better putting my existing Fulcrum Racing 7's on instead?
I believe Shimano and SRAM are compatible so will the shimano cassette on the fulcrums work ok with the sram gearing on the boardman?

Many thanks

:D

They might last longer, but doubt they'll perform any better. Sell the Bontragers and just save up for a quality pair. No problems with compatibility though.

    Bontragers?
Is it not Ritcheys on the boardman?

You're right, Tom and Keith must have been mates though  Same response.

So sell the ritcheys and use the flcrums until i can afford a good set? Surely not get much for them.

There was a fault in manufacture with a few of the earlier boardman team wheels but that was sorted out a while ago. Can't fault the ritchey's on mine.

I don't think you can go wrong with either Fulcrum one or racing zero's

I heard the hubs on the boardman ritcheys are not actually ritcheys and are the cheapest of the cheap, not sure if that's true or not!

I wouldn't bother putting your old Racing seven wheels on, keep the Ritchey wheels on until you can get hold of something like Racing 1 or 3, or perhaps Mavic Ksyrium Elites or similar. Then keep the Ritchey wheels for spares.

they dont look like ritcheys which are in fact american classic made under liscence who had big troubles a while ago so it may be no bad thing. i havent had mine apart to see if they are cartridge bearing or not but a man in halfords said they were. interestingly they are now putting the same wheels on the comp instead of the ritchey comp wheels and i noticed they were radial laced on the nodrive side. i think the rims are undoubtedly good but probably the only ritchey part of the wheel, the spoke bug me as well, they dont even seem double butted just plain 1.8mm which is spoiling the job for an apeth of tar. if you were to lace the rims to some ambrosio zenith hubs and double butted spokes with some strong 2.3-2.0 single butted sapim on the block side i think you would have a very good wheelset for not much money. the figures are quite aero in that chart someone posted a while ago.

I sold my wheels for £100 on here.

The rims are meant be be ok, but the hubs are generic, no brands. Of which I had little faith!
