Slicks?

Why do slicks give more grip - Is it due to a larger contact area?

Also should I go the long way home today?

Some compounds have better grip than others though. And they're all worse than useless on ice.

    Cool link thanks.

Long way home it is and then fitting my new Conti Sport Contacts to replace the Panaracer Fire XC's I'm currently commuting on. Hooray.

I mainly got them coz they were cheap (£9.99 per tyre) from On-One and fancied adding some zip to my commute.

I've even bought some lyrca tights recently!! Although still wear my baggies over the top but they are the greatest thing ever and I now wonder how I coped without them. No more freezing, wind chapped shins and my knees stay nice and warm and not stiff. :D
