I'm interested in racing the surrey league at goodwood this year as it'll be close to where I'm moving home too, but what is the circuit like? Flat? Hilly? Fast?

It's a very gentle circuit for a beginner, extremely wide, extremely non-technical for the beginners - they normally take out the chicane I think, a great place to start racing,

  • Wide, immaculate surface, fast, one slight updrag into the wind when I was a there. Last time I did it a year ago the chicane was in. You have to be top 20 going into it.

One of the local women racers wrote something about what it's like to race at Goodwood on this women's road racing website.
This was done as a way of encouraging more women to take part in the women's race at Goodwood on March 28th.

    Hope it helps.

Very flat, and nice and wide, about 2.4 miles round....it's usually the wind conditions that make the race :D A 35mph coast down the Lavant straight can be turned into a 20mph slog round the other side. Back in the day we used to get 150 rider bunches on a Tuesday night and some good 70 mile epics on Sunday's that can get a bit loooong!
