They've been reduced again, I can vouch for the great quality and hugely bright output.

  • Am I right in thinking this moel is different from the infamous 1/2 watt version? If so, how does it compare?

It is. It has LEDs similar to the second and third LEDs in the Superflash, but lacks the 1/2 watt LED which makes them so good.

I got my Smart half watts on offer with a 5 LED Polaris headlight last year for about £12. Pretty unbeatable but while these aren't as good as a half watt, at that price you can have four on your bike for less than a tenner - set them all flashing and you'd just end up with a queue of dazed drivers slowly following in you a trance!

    I bought two, both faulty.
  • Nice one, thanks for the pointer :-) Two ordered
  • Just like last time they did a deal like this, the link says they are out of stock now...

    Shock horror!

  • Thank god for that. I was very close to ending up with yet more bike lights. I simply don't have a need for any more lights - but it was so cheap it was almost rude not to.
Never be tempted to race against a Barclays Cycle Hire bike. If you do, there are only two outcomes. Of these, by far the better is that you now have the scalp of a Boris Bike.

Sold out i guess they are not listing it anymore

I run 1 on each pannier + a 1/2 watt and another with a built in reflector on the seat post + a mini light on the helmet so i have enough lights anyway ...

Yeah, I bought one too. The sealing on them seems rubbish, all the rain killed mine.
  • In fairness, I did not NEED any more rear lights myself either, so no loss. I already have:-

    1x Smart 1/2W superflash
2x Crops MX-1s (came with "commuter bundle" from P-X)
1x Cateye from the last ice age
1x "Indicator" (4-mode 4-LED light in velcro material from The Glow Company, perfect for back of helmet, rucksack etc.)

Bought one too - It's made it all through winter, through the cold, snow and heavy rain. Mine sits on my little under the saddle bag so i think it's protected from the wet from my ass.

    Bargain think it cost £2.30

My FOUR lights came today, enough for rucksacks and family bikes.

Despite not having the single 1/2w led they are very very bright, the optics make full use of the 7 leds and they are too bright to look at directly. Good quality plastics, rubber gasket sealed and batteries included.

For the money they are a steal,

Just so you know, I'm now blaming you for my Wiggle purchase of a Kryptonite mini d-lock. I hope you feel suitably ashamed

Yep, nice lights, shame they didn't use the 'twist with coin to open' mechanism
  • My two arrived yesterday, as previously mentioned, they're REALLY bright and nice how they use the 7 LEDs to get different angles (Three pointed straight back, one to each side at 90o and one to each side at 45o

Thanks for the promt (and the spring code :-) will keep an eye out for future offers like that.

 Mine arrived earlier this morning and are working fine. I might use them tonight although I really should store them in readiness for the new bike I'll get later in the year.

I put one on, the other is sitting on my desk in front of me :)

... I better buy a new bike to put it on, huh?

You mean you haven't already? What you waiting for? :)

I, unfortunately, have to wait for the next C2W scheme at work in September. Still it gives me enough time to get a bike fit and do lots of research on the best bike for me :)
