Hi all. Can any one give me advice, would the kenda 8 block be a good rear tyre for my Charge Blender. I ride jump parks, street, drops and short single track blasts. I use a minion up front but if any other ideas let me know. All ideas welcome. Cheers

I used to use Maxxis Holyrollers on my parkbike, useless in mud, but for what you want them for ideal.

What about a Maxxis Holy Roller.

Great on the street and not to shabby in the woods either.

I run a holy roller on the back of my stumpy when on the street but if things are really sloppy up at glentress then I swap to a High Roller on the back

Small Blocks are fantastic tyres but they don't deal well with mud. Well, for a very fast summer tyre they actually do, but that's not saying a lot. Mine are hung up on the garage wall til summer comes.

Just been loaoking at reviews for the holy roller. They are highly rated but apparently are v prone to pinch flats. This would be no good to me as i ride a lot of drop ins that are surrounded by rock, so it looks like i am back to the kenda 8 block on the rear and minion up front again....or not! Confused.com!??!

I never had a problem with them and I am a heavy sod.

I take reviews with a pinch of salt.

I ran the same front and rear, in fact, come to think of it I have never mixed tyres!

Big cheese, how did you find them on rocks. I live in yorkshire and we have lots of rocky outcrops that we basically pick lines on. Sometimes techy descents, some big drops, them there are fast hard pack single track blasts, dirt jumps and urban. Will this tyre do the lot. I like the minion on the front cause its very stable on or through rocks. Cheers for your advice

Well, I live in London, so not many local trails around here. However, they were fine on concrete/skate parks, fine around my local woods (which is huge), fine with rock gardens, but I never totally thrashed them through anything jagged or majorly treacherous, most sidewalls will rip if the terrain is bad enough......

They held up fine on drops, singletrack and urban riding, however they are total shite when it's muddy!

Small blocks are great, but you cannot get them anywhere for sensible money at the mo, unless you want 1.95s.. Need to wait a couple of weeks before prices get back to <£45 a pair. Some places are selling them at RRP+

I disagree about the mud. On the front they are useless but they ain't to bad at mud when on the back. Obviously not going to be as good as a mud tyre but what mud tyre is a good all rounder for street as well

About the minion, I run a minion on the front with it and its great!!!

I couldn't get any traction on the rear wheel, but the trails were bogged. I remember it as clearly as if it were yesterday (was 2007), I gave up and turned around as I couldn't get anywhere, wheels kept spinning out (2.1 flavour as well)

Well if its that boggy then only a mud tyre would do and even then a lot would struggle.
